I called BS on air spading for 4 years, then a dying red oak in Toledo proved me dead wrong
I always thought air spading was just a fancy way to sell a $1,200 job to homeowners who didn't need it. Then last spring I watched a buddy do it around a 60 year old red oak in Toledo with compacted clay, and six weeks later the canopy pushed new growth you could actually see from the street. I still think half the guys pushing it don't know what they're doing, but seeing roots respond like that shut me up. Any of you running air spades regularly, and do you charge it as its own line item or fold it into the mulch job?
