I just finished my 500th tree inspection for the city's hazard program and the number actually hit me

It made me realize how many potential widowmakers I've caught before they could hurt someone, which is a quiet kind of win you don't really talk about.

Quiet win is right, that's a whole lot of silent thank-yous you'll never hear. I guess the city's official motto is now "we didn't die today, thanks to this person." Bet your job is just a constant game of "spot the thing that wants to kill a picnic.
