Pro tip: My old way of dealing with a hornet's nest in a tree was... not smart

Back in 2018, I used to just spray a whole can of wasp killer from the ground and hope for the best... which usually ended with me running. The turning point was a job in Springfield where I got stung five times before even getting my saw started. Now, I wait until dusk with a proper bee suit and a shop vac with a long hose extension to suck them right out of the nest cavity. It's slower, but way less painful. Anyone have a better method for those high-up nests in hollow limbs?

Yeah, I had good luck with a foam sealant after dark. Just plug the hole and they're done.

Foam sealant is a temporary fix at best. They'll just chew through it or find another way in. You gotta find where they're getting in and block it for good.

Foam sealant might stop them for a night but those little buggers are persistent and will find the weak spots. You're right that tracking down the entry point is the only way to actually solve it long term. A temporary plug is just asking for round two once they figure out how to get around it lol.
