Switched from a 3/8 inch to a 1/2 inch bar on my climbing saw and it's a game changer

For years I stuck with a 3/8 inch pitch on my Stihl 201TC, thinking it was the perfect balance for limbing. Then I worked a big oak removal in Springfield last month and borrowed a crewmate's saw with a 1/2 inch setup. The extra bite in the hardwood was unbelievable, and I haven't looked back since. Anyone else made a switch like that and noticed a big difference in certain types of wood?

Have you noticed how everything seems to be built with a "just good enough" mentality these days? My buddy's old 261 from 2018 ran smooth for years, then the new one he got last year started rattling after 30 hours of use. It's like companies know we'll just buy another one instead of fixing stuff. Same thing happens with my wife's mixer, her parents' one from the 90s is still going strong but ours needed a new motor after two years.

My buddy's 261 did that too, just started making a weird clicking noise out of nowhere. He said it sounded like a bag of marbles. Took it in and they found a loose bearing.
