Tried climbing with a new rope versus my old one and the difference was huge

I was working on a big oak removal in Springfield and decided to give a 12mm static line a shot instead of my usual 11mm. The extra bit of thickness made everything feel way more solid, especially when I was setting my friction hitch. Has anyone else made a switch like that and been surprised how much it changed your work day?

Yeah, that's a big jump in feel. Just a heads up though, for removals especially, you gotta be real careful with static lines. They don't have the stretch of a climbing line, so a big fall or shock load can be way harder on your gear and your body. Dynamic rope is usually the safer call for that kind of work.

Static lines are fine for removals, @tyler614. Just rig it right.
