Comparing my old flip phone to a smartphone for a week straight

I did a 7 day test last month in Portland where I used my 2019 LG flip phone for everything and left my iPhone in a drawer. The battery lasted 4 days easy and calls felt crisper, but GPS on the flip was useless and I missed two bus transfers because the maps app was too slow. The smartphone wins for daily life, no question, but the flip made me realize how much I stare at screens without thinking. Has anyone else tried a digital detox like this and found the old tech was better at something specific?

Noticed the same thing with my old MP3 player. Turns out I still like picking songs on purpose instead of letting some algorithm shuffle my whole life around. Flip phones just make you more aware of the choices you're making, even if they're worse ones.
