Hot take: growing basil from seed vs buying plants at the store isn't even close
I spent $3 on a packet of basil seeds back in April and watered them for 6 weeks before I got 4 sad little plants. Meanwhile my neighbor paid $12 for 6 big plants at the garden center and had pesto by May. I kept telling myself "homegrown tastes better" but honestly I couldn't tell the difference in my pasta. The store plants were bigger, cheaper per plant, and I didn't have to baby them for over a month. Has anyone else wasted a whole season on seeds when the real shortcut was just buying started plants?

Three bucks and six weeks for four sad plants, I feel your pain on that one.

Six weeks for that, @the_sean? Brutal. They owe you one.
