Just found out my tap water has 12 parts per billion of arsenic according to a 2023 city report
I was reading the latest water quality report for our town (Woburn, MA) and saw that arsenic number, which is below the federal limit but still higher than I expected, has anyone else checked their local water report lately and found something weird?

Wait, 12 parts per billion? That's wild. I'd be looking into a filter for sure.

Totally agree with @the_claire here, 12 ppb is not nothing even if it's technically legal. I live in an older building and our last report showed lead at 5 ppb which freaked me out because of the cumulative effect over years. I'd recommend getting a simple countertop filter that specifically targets heavy metals, not just taste, before you invest in anything big.

Did you look into the specific type of filter that removes heavy metals, or are you just using a standard carbon one? I've heard some of those cheaper filters don't actually grab lead at those low levels. Just wondering if you had to do any extra research on that.
