Lost $150 on a meal delivery kit that just cluttered my fridge

I signed up for one of those meal kit services back in March, thinking it would save me time and reduce food waste. After three weeks, I realized I was tossing out half the ingredients because the recipes were too complicated for a Tuesday night. The produce would go bad by day three, and I ended up eating takeout anyway. That $150 could have bought a nice grill or a dozen good steaks from the local butcher. Has anyone else found a simpler way to actually use those kits without wasting food?

Oh man, "cluttered my fridge" is exactly what happened to me. I signed up for that green brand with the fancy packaging and within a week my fridge looked like a science experiment gone wrong. The cilantro would be slimy by Tuesday and I'd have three half-used jars of random sauces nobody asked for. I actually started just dumping all the veggies into a pan with olive oil and garlic and calling it dinner, which totally defeated the purpose of having recipes. Did you end up canceling or are you still stuck with a box coming next week?

Haha yep, that pan of sad veggies with olive oil and garlic became my nightly routine too. I actually kept the subscription going for three more weeks just because I forgot to cancel. @bell.taylor if you figure out a graceful way to break up with that green brand, let me know.
