Pro tip: don't microwave a hard boiled egg after you peel it

I was at work in the breakroom last Tuesday, felt hungry, so I grabbed a hard boiled egg from the fridge. Popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds, and right as I opened the door, it exploded like a tiny bomb. Egg bits were all over the ceiling, my shirt, and the coffee pot. The whole office stared at me while I stood there holding a shell that used to be an egg. Has anyone else dealt with a sudden kitchen disaster that made you look like a total goof?

The Tuesday story reminds me of a similar incident my coworker Steve had last year. He microwaved a leftover boiled egg for 45 seconds (way too long, right?) and it burst with such force that the breakroom microwave door actually popped open. The landlord had to repaint the ceiling because the egg residue stained it so badly. What really kills me is that every time someone mentions eggs now, Steve brings up his own "Eggsplosion 2023" like it was some historical event. I swear he keeps a polaroid of the aftermath taped to his locker just to show newcomers.

Eggsplosion 2023" sounds like a lot of drama over a microwave egg, dude. Ceiling paint and polaroids seem a bit extra for something that took maybe 10 seconds to clean up.
