Rant: My old garden hose setup vs. 3 months with a $50 expandable one
I picked up one of those flexi hose things from Home Depot back in April because I was tired of dragging a heavy rubber hose around my yard in Phoenix. For the first month it was great, no kinking, light as anything. By the third month though the fabric started splitting near the nozzle and now it just drips constantly. Has anyone else seen these things fall apart that fast or did I just get a bad brand?

Did you get the one with the brass fittings or the plastic ones? I used to swear by those expandable hoses but after mine gave out in two months I went back to a regular hose. I was wrong about them being the future of watering.

Did you leave it out in the sun when you weren't using it? I had the same problem with mine in Tucson until I started bringing it inside after every use. Now I hang mine on a hook in the garage, and it's been going strong for almost a year with no leaks. The key is getting the ones with the solid metal connectors too, those plastic ones crack fast in the heat.
