The biggest mistake people make when asking for help in this community

Honestly, I keep seeing the same thing over and over. Someone posts something like "How do I fix my car?" with zero details. No make, no model, no year, no description of the problem. Then they get mad when nobody gives them a straight answer. Last week a guy asked for advice on a weird noise from his truck but refused to say if it was a Ford or a Chevy. How are you supposed to help someone like that? I know we all want quick answers, but you gotta give more info if you expect real help. Has anyone else noticed this trend and just felt like not even responding?

Last month some guy posted about his Harley making a grinding sound. Wouldn't say if it was the clutch or the transmission. Like dude, those are totally different fixes. I just closed the tab. People expect mind readers in here or something.

I feel you @wesley_grant33, the "grinding sound" thing drives me nuts too. I had the same issue with my old Softail, but I just took a guess and started with the clutch adjustment first since it's cheaper and easier to check. Turned out it was just a loose primary chain throwing the whole thing off, not even either of those. Idk, maybe next time someone could just throw in "it happens when I let the clutch out" or something, that tiny detail would save everyone a lot of headache. But yeah, I usually just close out of those threads too if they won't give more info.
