Hit 50% email open rate after switching subject line style last month
I was stuck around 22% open rate for months no matter what I tried. Then I tested a subject line that just asked a simple question like 'Still using old spreadsheets?' instead of my usual '5 Tips for Better Data'. First send jumped to 48% opens. Second batch hit 51%. Who knew being direct instead of clever would work that much better? Has anyone else seen big jumps from just changing how you phrase the subject?

Not bad, but 50% is still kinda average honestly. Most solid lists hit 60%+ with good segmentation. Maybe try splitting your list by engagement level too and see if that moves the needle more.

My coworker ran a test last month and found open rates went up to 68% just by trimming inactive subscribers first. Ever tried that or just the engagement splits?
