LinkedIn outreach took me 6 months to stop sounding like a robot

I spent 6 months sending connection requests that got maybe a 2% response rate. Finally realized I was just copying templates instead of talking about their specific pain points. How long did it take you to figure out your B2B messaging?

Wait, 15%? That's insane. I was lucky to get 3% back when I was parroting those garbage templates. How did you even get people to open up like that? I always felt like I was walking on eggshells asking about their process, like they'd just block me for being too nosy or something. It took me a full 8 months before I realized nobody cares about my product, they care about their own headache. That shift from "here's what I do" to "hey, your thing looks broken, wanna fix it?" was like night and day for me.

What was the specific pain point that finally clicked for you? I found that when I started asking about their current process for [X] and where it was breaking down, my response rate jumped to around 15%. Templates just make people feel like another number in a spreadsheet.
