Found out my CRM was charging me for 15 users I never added since 2021
I was going through last month's billing statement and noticed a $450 monthly charge for extra seats that somehow got turned on during a 2021 software update, has anyone else caught phantom charges in their business software subscriptions?

Fifteen phantom users since 2021? That's like paying for a whole fake department. Probably had names like "User 146" and "Test account" on your billing. I bet deleting them felt better than finding a $20 bill in an old coat. Classic CRM move, charge you first, ask questions never.

That line about "paying for a whole fake department" hit me right in the gut... I caught a similar thing last year with my accounting software, they had added a "Manager" tier license that nobody in my company ever requested. It had been running for almost two years before I noticed, just quietly draining money every month. The worst part is when you call customer support and they act like you're the one who made the mistake... like sure, I just forgot I wanted to pay for extra stuff I don't use. Makes you wonder how many other businesses are bleeding cash on these phantom charges without ever catching them.
