Hit a weird milestone with a client review process change

I was at a networking event for small cleaning biz owners in Austin last month and a guy mentioned he uses a 3 question post-service survey instead of the long form I was sending. Switched to it for my last 12 clients and got 8 replies back instead of the usual 2. Anyone else try shortening their feedback forms and see way better response rates?

Yep that shorter is almost always better. But here's the thing nobody's talking about - you might be getting more replies but are you getting useful ones? I'd rather have 2 detailed problem reports than 8 "everything was great!" responses that tell me nothing.

Yeah, that "everything was great!" stuff drives me crazy... I had this one user who kept saying that every time I asked about a bug, then later I find out they'd been using a broken feature for months without telling me. Like, what's the point of feedback if you're just gonna say what you think I want to hear? Reminds me of when my friend's kid kept saying school was fine every day, then we found out he'd been skipping third period for two weeks... sometimes people just don't want to rock the boat.
