Payroll software that looked too cheap to work just saved my 40-person firm

I was totally skeptical when my accountant pushed a $29/month payroll tool that I'd never heard of. Figured it would choke on our multi-state filings or just pawn off support to a bot. After 4 months of running it alongside our old provider, the results were shockingly clean and one rep actually walked me through a SUI rate mess in under 20 minutes. Now I'm wondering how many other cheap B2B services are secretly solid, or did I just get lucky with this one? Anyone else had a budget tool punch way above its price tag, or has it mostly burned you?

Swapped my expensive provider for a $19 tool and never looked back. Cheap can be solid.
