Agree with @gibson.sean, feedback before production is just common sense.

Dude, same thing happened to me at a packaging expo last year. This older guy walked past my booth, saw my feedback forms, and just laughed saying I was "wasting time chasing opinions before the product was even ready." Man, it got under my skin. Like, sorry I want to know if people actually like the color scheme before I order 10,000 units of a bad design. Some people just think their old way is the only way and wont even entertain the idea that getting feedback early saves a ton of headache later.
