Warning: the account manager at our Austin review call kept saying "circle back" while dodging my pricing question
We were 40 minutes into a demo for a $1,200 a month tool and every time I asked about setup fees he said they'd "circle back offline." I finally pulled the contract and there it was, a $3,500 onboarding charge buried on page 6. Has anyone else caught a vendor hiding costs in the fine print during a review?
Man, I feel this. What worked for me was asking them to send the full pricing sheet in writing before the call even started, and when they pushed back I just said no sheet means no meeting. Turns out they had a $2,800 "implementation fee" that never came up on the first call. Now I read page 6 and every page after it before I sign anything, learned that one the hard way.
