Almost lost my whole crop after a hailstorm hit my balcony in Denver last June
I came home from a job to find my tomato plants shredded and pots knocked over. Now I keep a eye on the weather radar every morning and have a tarp ready to throw over everything if things look bad. Anyone else deal with sudden storms ruining their setup?

Honestly I used to think the tarp thing was overkill but after losing a bunch of my basil to a random storm last month I'm fully on board now lol. I keep one folded up by the back door at all times.

My neighbor's chili peppers got completely flattened by a freak thunderstorm back in July 2019... I was out of town for the weekend and came back to find half the plants snapped in half and pods scattered everywhere. So I feel your pain with the tarp idea, I actually rigged up a old bedsheet over a PVC frame last year and it saved my greens from a sudden downpour. The radar checking is key now for me too, I do it every morning before I even grab my coffee.
