Can we talk about those $60 self-watering planters I bought

I dropped $60 on two fancy self-watering pots from Gardeners Supply last spring for my balcony tomatoes. Ended up with root rot on both plants by July because the reservoir just stayed soggy. Total waste of money and I should have stuck with basic terracotta pots.

Man, my buddy bought those and his cherry tomatoes were mush in a month.
