Debate: Should You Cut Off Yellow Leaves or Leave Them Be?

My neighbor saw my tomato plants with yellow bottoms and said I was starving them by cutting those leaves off. She told me to leave them to feed the plant, but I read they just invite disease. Which side is right for a small balcony setup?

Honestly I think people overthink this one. If those yellow leaves are just a few at the bottom and not spreading it probably doesn't matter much either way on a small balcony. Take it from someone who's killed plants both ways it's more about watering and sun than a leaf or two.
