Do we over-water compact balcony pots or is the drainage crowd actually right?
I've killed 4 basil plants in 7-inch pots on my 8th floor Toronto balcony by treating them like my raised beds, but switching to a gritty mix with a 1-inch gap at the bottom this June has me questioning if everyone here is too scared of root rot to admit thirsty plants exist in small containers, so which side are you on after a full summer of trial?
