Heard my neighbor say she waters her balcony veggies every single day without fail
I was out on my fire escape last week and overheard her telling someone on the phone that she douses her tomato plants daily. That's way too much for containers, especially if you're using potting mix that holds moisture. I killed a whole batch of basil last summer doing that before I learned to stick my finger in the soil first. Anyone else have a neighbor who's overwatering and you're too awkward to speak up?

Three whole tomato plants. That's what she's got out there. They looked fine last week when I walked past. Not limp, not yellow, not even sad. I think people get way too worked up about watering schedules. Plants are tougher than we give them credit for. Maybe her potting mix is mostly perlite or sand. Maybe she's got saucers underneath catching the runoff. Unless the leaves are literally mushy and the soil is swampy, I'd say let her water however she wants.

@skylerg17 you make a fair point, maybe her soil is basically a colander. I once watered my succulents so much they turned into soup, so I'm clearly not one to judge. Still, daily seems wild to me unless she's got them in straight gravel.
