Hit 50 pounds of cherry tomatoes off 3 plants this season
I started tracking my harvest back in July just out of curiosity. Put a kitchen scale on the balcony and weighed every batch before bringing them inside. By September I was at 42 pounds and figured I'd hit 50 by the end. Last Sunday I picked the final cluster and the scale read 51.3 pounds total. Anyone else track their yields and get surprised by the final number?

50 pounds off 3 plants" I'm a little skeptical of that number.

Oh man, I've had people give me that skeptical look too when I showed them photos of my tomato harvest. The real trick is growing indeterminate varieties in big enough containers (like 15+ gallon pots) with consistent feeding every two weeks. If you're getting 50 pounds from three plants, you're probably using a heavy feeder variety like Super Sweet 100 or Sun Gold and treating them right with full sun and regular water.
