I used to cram every pot I owned onto my fire escape until a neighbor in 4B asked if I was trying to start a fire

The weight of all that wet soil and ceramic was actually bending the metal grating. I switched to lightweight fabric grow bags and only grow three things at a time now. Anyone else have a close call that made you totally change your setup?

Saw an article the other day about this property manager in Portland who spent almost a year trying to get a tenant out who was running a mechanic shop out of the garage. The guy had oil stains all over the driveway and car parts stacked up in the backyard. Meanwhile the landlord couldn't collect rent or do anything about it without a court order. So yeah I can see both sides of this.

Actually landlords have it rough these days with all the rules. Tenants can trash a place and it takes months to get them out. My buddy owns a duplex and the last guy stopped paying for six months, cost him thousands. Sometimes the landlord is the one getting in trouble, not the tenant.
