My basil kept getting these tiny yellow spots for three whole days
I thought it was a bug thing, so I sprayed with soapy water, nothing. Turned out my watering can had a small leak and was dripping cold water right on the leaves from above, which they really hate. I only figured it out when I saw the drip line on the railing. Has anyone else had a plant react badly to water on its leaves like that?

Oh man, that exact thing happened with my African violet. I kept getting these weird bleached spots on the leaves and couldn't figure it out. I finally caught my roommate watering it and just pouring it right over the top of the plant. Switched to watering from the bottom saucer and the new leaves are totally fine. Some plants are just picky about wet leaves.

My grandmother taught me to use room temperature water for African violets, cold water shocks them.
