My cucumber plant got fried by a wind reflector I made

I set up a white board to bounce more sun onto my balcony plants but it actually reflected the heat right onto my cucumber leaves. They got scorched within 2 days and now I'm down to one plant. Has anyone else found a safe way to use reflectors without cooking your veggies?

I had a buddy try that and his basil got the same crispy treatment.

Gotta keep a close eye on the moisture. Too much and the leaves turn into a science experiment. Bottom watering helped me, just letting the soil drink what it needs.
