My neighbor swore by eggshell water for tomatoes. I laughed until I tried it.

So my balcony neighbor Karen kept telling me to soak crushed eggshells in water for 24 hours and use that on my cherry tomatoes. I rolled my eyes so hard lmao. Like come on, eggshells in soil is a thing but eggshell water sounded like witch craft. After 3 weeks of my tomatoes looking sad and yellow, I finally caved and did her method. Used about 6 eggshells in a mason jar with water, left it on the balcony for a day, then poured it on the plants. Dude. Within 10 days the leaves turned dark green and I got like 15 new flowers popping up. Now i do it every 2 weeks and the tomatoes are actually ripening now. Anyone else got a weird home remedy that actually worked for their balcony veggies?

Six eggshells in one mason jar... that sounds like a lot.

Stick to 3-4 eggshells in a quart of water instead, that's plenty for a few pots. I tried 6 once and ended up with weird cloudy water that smelled like old eggs after 24 hours. Just let them soak overnight then water straight away before it gets funky.
