Neighbor's warning about my tomato cages saved my crop

Last month, this older guy from 3B stopped me by the recycling bins and noticed my cages were only 4 feet tall, he said 'those vines will hit 8 feet easy, add extensions now or you'll be wrestling them in July.' I shrugged it off until my cherry tomatoes outgrew the tops in 6 weeks, has anyone else ignored the height advice and paid for it?
