Question about those expensive self-watering pots from the garden center
Honestly, I spent $75 on three of them for my tomatoes last spring, and they all got clogged with roots within a month, so I had to go back to hand-watering anyway.

My neighbor Susan bought two of those fancy self-watering planters for her patio herbs. The little watering tubes got completely blocked by soil and tiny roots in just a couple weeks. She ended up taking them apart and now just uses the pots as regular containers.
