Rant: I read a gardening book from the library that said a single bell pepper plant can need up to 3 gallons of water on a hot day.
Has anyone else had to adjust their watering schedule drastically after learning something like that?

Nah, plants are tougher than people give them credit for.

Yeah, it's wild how much water things actually need. I keep finding that with all sorts of basic life stuff, the official numbers are way higher than my guesses. Makes you wonder what else you're under-doing without even knowing.
