Serious question, did it really take you two months to figure out how to water balcony tomatoes without drowning your downstairs neighbor?
I spent six weeks trying different drip tray setups before I realized a simple 2-inch lip on the shelf would catch all the overflow, so which side are you on, the slow leak method or just moving plants to the edge and hoping for the best?

Oh boy, I am firmly in the "slow leak and hope" camp because I learned that lesson the hard way with a very angry text from my neighbor last summer. Six weeks of trial and error with trays and liners sounds about right, honestly, it takes that long to figure out that gravity has a cruel sense of humor. But the 2-inch lip trick is genius, I'm just too stubborn to go back and fix my setup now.

Right, @coleman.jade, you are giving me TOTAL flashbacks to last summer's patio drainage disaster. I spent a whole month convinced my setup was PERFECT until a surprise rainstorm turned my balcony into a water feature for the downstairs apartment. That angry text from the neighbor is basically a rite of passage, isn't it? The 2-inch lip thing sounds amazing but I am in the same boat, too stubborn to redo all those trays and liners just to save face. Honestly, gravity is a bully and we are all just living in its playground with wet socks.
