That week in August when my cherry tomatoes went crazy

I had a bad stretch last August where everything on my balcony looked sad. Then out of nowhere, my cherry tomatoes went totally nuts. I counted 47 ripe ones off a single plant in one Wednesday afternoon. Funny thing is, I barely watered them that week because I was busy with work. Has anyone else had a plant suddenly go wild like that when you weren't paying attention?

Honestly I used to water my plants like clockwork every single day thinking they needed it. Then last summer my basil was looking sad so I ignored it for a few days and it doubled in size. That cherry tomato story makes total sense to me now. Sometimes neglect is the best thing you can do for them I swear. 47 off one plant in an afternoon is ridiculous though you must have had a good variety or something.

@maxm63 yeah I think my plants thrive on neglect too, it's like they know when I'm too busy to stress over them. 47 tomatoes in one afternoon is just showing off though, mine never pull that kind of stunt when I'm actually watching.
