Warning: A family hike showed me how to water my balcony plants better.

We took a day trip to a nearby nature reserve last weekend. I noticed wild greens growing well in spots that only got rain. It made me think I was overdoing it with my balcony garden watering. I switched to watering only when the soil felt dry, like in the woods. My cherry tomatoes and basil have never looked healthier. It's a simple change, but it feels like a big win for me. I snapped a pic to share how lush everything is now.

My buddy did the same thing with his herbs last month.

Was it basil again? That stuff is so touchy. My cilantro totally gave up after I moved it to a new window, just went all thin and sad. Sometimes you do everything right and they still decide it's not their day. Feels bad when you're just trying to keep a plant alive.

Plants can be so dramatic for no reason.
