My whole brisket plan fell apart when my Traeger died at 3 AM

I was cooking for a friend's party in Tacoma, had a 14 pound prime packer on, and the auger just quit. The temp dropped from 225 to 120 before I even woke up. Had to scramble to get it into my old Weber kettle to finish, and the bark was a total loss. What's the most reliable backup cooker you guys keep on hand for emergencies like this?

What's your plan for the next 3 AM disaster?

I just heard someone on a design podcast say they keep a bag of ice cubes ready to throw in any pan that starts smoking. Seems like a solid trick for when you're half asleep and something's burning. Better than standing there fanning the smoke detector at 3 AM I guess.
