That $400 thermometer was a total waste
Bought a Fireboard 2 last spring. Worked fine for two cooks then the wifi died. Customer support ghosted me. I'm back to using my old $20 probe and just watching the smoker closer. Anyone else had bad luck with expensive wireless probes?

Did you try throwing the Fireboard in the freezer for 20 minutes? That fixed my first gen once. Actually $400 for a thermometer is already a bad joke, losing the wifi just makes it a punchline. I had a similar overpriced probe that stopped connecting mid-brisket, now it lives in a drawer with the other "I'll fix it someday" gadgets. Sometimes the simple stuff just works better, even if it means standing by the smoker like a dedicated dad at a kid's soccer game.
