That $60 pack of rib racks I bought was a total waste

Bought a set of rib racks from a BBQ supply shop online, figured they'd help me fit more slabs on my 18-inch smoker. After 3 cooks, the coating chipped off and the ribs came out uneven every time has anyone else had bad luck with those things?

Man same thing happened to me. Paid way too much for a set and the finish started peeling after maybe two cooks. Went back to just stacking them flat and rotating mid way, works better and didn't cost me anything extra.

Wait, your $60 rib racks did exactly what mine did except mine cost half that from a yard sale lol. Coating chipped off on the second cook and I spent more time trying to flip ribs evenly than just cooking them flat on the grate. Guess we both paid for a fancy way to make uneven ribs.

Ended up just using a cheap wire rack from a baking sheet for ribs now. Flipping is way easier and they come out just as good as any vertical rack I've used. Sometimes the simple stuff really is the better move.
