That fancy smoker I bought on impulse cost me $800 and a whole weekend

I saw this shiny offset smoker at a yard sale for $800 and thought I was getting a steal. Spent all Saturday trying to season it and get the temperature steady, but it just wouldn't hold heat below 300 degrees. Turns out the firebox had a crack I didn't notice, and the seller wasn't answering their phone. Has anyone else been burned by a used smoker that looked good from the outside?

Hold up, the seller just ghosted you after you paid 800 bucks? That's messed up. I'd be blowing up their phone nonstop.

spencer199, I used to be one of those "trust the process" people but this changed my mind. Some people just suck, plain and simple.
