Chose a 400-page doorstopper over the club's quick pick, now the group's split clean in half.
Last Tuesday I brought in the long historical novel nobody wanted to read and suddenly the silent members turned into full-on crusaders for the shorter option. The vote ended 6 to 5 but now there's a side chat about forming a splinter club, has anyone else watched their group fracture over a single title?

My buddy's group split over a poetry book once, never recovered.

Seventy bucks on a used copy of "The Waste Land" and my book club's never been the same either, @ross.river. Now we just fight over who gets the last slice of lemon loaf.
