Hit 50 books in one year for the first time and it changed how I read
I've always been a casual reader, picking up maybe 10-15 books a year. But last January my book club set a group goal of reading 52 books in 2023. I thought it was crazy but I went along with it. By October I was at 45 books and I realized I could actually hit 50. That number felt huge to me because I never thought I had that kind of time. What surprised me most was how my reading changed. I stopped putting down books I didn't like halfway through and got better at picking stuff that really clicked. Has anyone else hit a number like that and found it changed how they approach reading?

Realized it actually made me more picky about quality, not quantity.

Stick with it @phoenixh74, sounds like you're figuring out what actually matters to you. Getting picky about quality beats chasing more stuff every time. It's the kind of lesson that only hits home once you've been through it.
