Just realized after 5 years I was holding my book wrong
Was at my book club meeting last Tuesday talking about the chapter we read, and Cathy says "I love how you hold your book like a phone screen." I was like what? She points out I been holding books with one hand near the bottom so the pages flop everywhere. Apparently everyone else uses two hands or lays the book flat on the table. I've been a one-handed reader my whole life and never noticed how much I was fighting the book. My wrists even hurt after longer reading sessions but I thought that was normal. Anyone else learn a basic reading habit they were doing backwards the whole time?

Wait until you discover the wrist brace I had to buy after thirty years of holding my books like you do. Turns out fighting the natural spine curve causes actual nerve damage over time, not just sore wrists. Maybe book publishers should add a warning label, like anything else that requires proper handling.
