My book club spent three meetings arguing over the ending of 'The Secret History'

We were supposed to wrap it up in one session, but people kept bringing new theories about the final scene. It turned into a whole thing about unreliable narrators and moral decay. Sounds like your group missed the whole point of a book club. You're supposed to enjoy the story, not treat it like a school test. Spending that long on one book just kills the fun for everyone.
