Wasn't there a study that found most people in book clubs don't finish the book? I heard someone say the real point is just to have a reason to meet and talk, and the book is just the excuse. What's the last book your club actually finished?

Honestly our club started picking shorter books and it actually helps, @james_martin93. We just finished a thriller last month.

Sounds about right. My book club mostly just confirms I didn't understand the assignment.
