TIL I was voting wrong in book club, we switched to secret ballots and our pick fights almost vanished
We used to do show of hands on every pick and the loudest three people always won, so back in March we tried written secret ballots on a 5 book shortlist. Our vote spread went from 4 to 9 different winners across the year, and people actually showed up to discuss books they'd lost on. Has any other club tried ranked choice instead of plain ballots?
