Unpopular opinion: the guy who says fantasy maps are 'homework' has never hosted a club with 9 people
We were at Rosa's place in Portland two months ago and she picks up every book with a map on page one, traces it with her finger, and now three other members do it too. Then Marcus says out loud that he skips all the maps because they feel like homework, and the room split in half right there over chips and salsa. I get that a map can be lazy worldbuilding, but when I see a member flip back to the map to follow a battle, that book is working on them. How do you all handle a club where half the table wants maps and half thinks they are a chore?
