I thought he was just trying to sell me more soil but I buried those stems up to the first leaves and now I'm giving away extras to the neighbors who doubted it, anyone else get weird gardening advice from old timers that actually works?

Went to that new ramen place last Friday and the broth was so salty I couldn't finish it, anyone else have that issue or did I just get a bad batch?

Warning: My Bosch dishwasher had a hidden filter that flooded my kitchen

Last Tuesday I ran my Bosch like normal and came back to water all over the linoleum. Turns out the fine filter under the bottom spray arm was completely clogged with gunk after about 4 months of not checking it. I pulled the arm off, rinsed the mesh screen, and reassembled it in about 10 minutes. Anyone else forget about these hidden filters until something goes wrong?

Just realized I've been overwatering my lawn for years

I used to water my yard every morning like clockwork, thinking more was better. Then a neighbor told me to stick a screwdriver in the ground and check if it's actually dry before turning the sprinklers on. Turns out my soil holds moisture way longer than I thought.
