Appreciation post: Tried two different plumbers for a leak under my sink on Main Street
The first guy wanted to replace the whole unit for $800, but the second just swapped a $15 washer in 10 minutes. Anyone know a good local handyman for small jobs like that?

Exactly, keep that second guy's number on your fridge. The first plumber saw a chance to make a big sale on a simple fix. A lot of tradespeople will do that if they think you don't know any better. Finding an honest one who just fixes the actual problem is worth its weight in gold. Stick with the person who already proved they won't rip you off.

That's a plumber, not a handyman. For future stuff, just call the second guy directly since he already did good work.
