I finally switched from the big grocery store on Bothell Everett Hwy to the Saturday market, and my food bill dropped about $60 a week
For like 3 years I did all my shopping at the Safeway on Bothell Everett Hwy. One cart, one trip, done. Then back in April my neighbor kept bugging me about the Saturday market over by the library and I finally went. I was sure it would cost more, but it's been the opposite. I spend around $85 there now for a full week of veggies, eggs, and bread, and the same stuff was running me $140 to $150 at the store. The eggs alone are a dollar cheaper a dozen and they taste way better. The weird part is I go every week now and know the vendors by name, which I never thought I'd care about. Has anyone else switched where they buy food around here? And is there a good spot in Bothell for meat that won't wreck my budget, because that's the one thing I still get at the big store?
