Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say the new roundabout on 522 is gonna be a disaster
I was at Java Junkie last Saturday and this older dude was going off about how the city is adding that roundabout near the Walmart. He said traffic backups are gonna get worse, not better, and he even pulled out his phone to show a traffic study from 2019 that predicted 15 minute delays. I never really thought about it before, but he had a point about how people here already can't handle the one on Main Street. Anyone else hear rumors about this or seen the construction plans?

Yeah, have you noticed how people treat traffic changes like some kind of personal attack? It's like any new road thing is automatically the worst thing ever invented, but then you see the same people swerving around potholes on 522 every day without complaining. I drove through that Main Street roundabout last week and watched three different drivers stop dead in the middle because they couldn't figure out when to go, so the older guy might not be totally wrong about our local driving skills. But honestly, the bigger pattern I see is everyone thinks their city is the only one with bad drivers, meanwhile every town complains about the same stuff. The real problem is nobody wants to learn something new, they just keep doing the same wrong thing and blaming the road.

My cousin lives in Seattle and says roundabouts are basically blood sport out there.
